Field Application Scientist – Europe

Applied Cells is currently seeking a Field Application Scientist to support sales of our novel cell processing system. The MARS® Platform offers label-free, Ficoll gradient-free acoustic cell separation and a matrix-free immunomagnetic cell separation technology to isolate cells using a proprietary multiphysics approach. MARS is completely automated for complete sample preparation and isolation, and provides efficient removal of lysed cell debris, dead cells, and other small particles.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conduct on-site training sessions
  • Provide scientific support for sales activities – on-site or webinar-based demonstrations of the MARS™ system
  • Participate in the organization and conduct of MARS™ instrumentation and applications workshops
  • Perform feasibility studies for potential customers and prepare reports based on data generated from these studies
  • Perform application testing of new product releases and feedback to R&D and marketing teams to improve product use
  • To work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and R&D teams to increase sales and customer satisfaction
  • Record and manage activities and write reports to document activities
  • Participate in and attend scientific meetings and trade shows

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • A degree in biological sciences with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in cell – based assays. A post graduate degree is highly desirable
  • Laboratory experience in one or more or more of the following is required: cell-based assay development cellular and molecular biology, cellular immunology, high-content cellular analysis, cell surface fluorescence labeling, magnetic labelling, and isolation of cells
  • Prior technical sales/marketing role with a life sciences company is highly desirable
  • Previous experience meeting revenue and profit objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on ability to organize and communicate concepts in a clear manner
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time with a flexible schedule (including some overseas travel)
  • Experience in one or all the following techniques would be a plus:
    • flow cytometry analysis 
    • next generation sequencing
    • tissue processing and cell isolation from tissues

  • Must take a “hands-on” approach to problem solving
